Cost:
– $3,800 (Claremont students)
– $4,200 (non-Claremont students)
– $200 deposit due April 1. Full payment by May 1.
This includes:
– Room and all meals for 30 days
– Ground transportation in Israel
– Program-related tours and admissions
– Laundry service
Not included:
– Airfare
– Tuition (optional)
– Expenses associated with personal eating and travel
– Travel insurance (required of all participants)
Accommodations: Israel Nautical Academy
Students reside in a modern, en-suite, air-conditioned building, with two to three students per room. Internet access is available in the building (although not in the bedrooms), and you are encouraged to bring your own laptop/tablets.
Typical Daily Schedule (Monday-Friday)
4:30 Wake up and first breakfast
5:25 Bus to excavation site
5:30 Begin day’s excavation
9:00 Breakfast on the tel
9:30 Resume excavation
12:30 Return to academy
1:00 Lunch
1:30 Free time
4:00 Lecture
5:00 Pottery washing and labs
7:00 Dinner
Other Program Activities:
- Conservation and heritage projects
- Tours of Akko, including Crusader sites and the Ottoman city
- Tours of sites in Israel, which can include Jerusalem, Caesarea, Galilee
