Matthew Swope has a master’s in Positive Organizational Psychology and Evaluation and is currently pursuing his PhD in Applied Research Methods and Evaluation at CGU. Matthew has several years’ experience evaluating both local and international youth development and education programs, including the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and Project Grad Los Angeles.

Matthew currently works on several projects through YD Eval including a computer science education evaluation capacity building grant through the National Science Foundation and an evaluation of Feeding America’s Child Hunger Corps program.

Matthew joined YD Eval because of its reputation for high quality evaluation work, hands-on evaluation training, and opportunities to work with programs seeking to make a positive impact in the lives of young people. His research and professional interests center on evaluation capacity building – the process of helping organizations develop the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct rigorous and ongoing internal evaluations.
