Description:
The object, known as a tabot, is a tablet that symbolically represents the Ark of the Covenant and the Ten Commandments. It is made of wood or stone. The claim for repatriating the tabot was initiated in 2007 by the head of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Abune Paulos, and later supported by the Ethiopian Government.
