Project Overview
This project will support the development and pilot testing of a preconception health curriculum designed for young adults in San Bernardino County. The goal of the project is to increase awareness of how health behaviors and life choices before pregnancy can influence maternal, paternal, and infant health outcomes. The student will review existing evidence-based preconception health education models and identify key topics relevant to young adults, such as reproductive health, nutrition, chronic disease prevention, mental health, and healthy lifestyle behaviors. Based on this research, the student will assist in developing a culturally relevant and accessible curriculum tailored to the needs of young adults in the county. The project may also include piloting portions of the curriculum in a community or educational setting and gathering feedback to refine the materials. Findings from this work can help inform future educational programming aimed at improving preconception health knowledge and promoting healthier outcomes for families in San Bernardino County.
