We made covenants to Heavenly Father, not with American church nor American religion. For example in the Catholic church members are never called members of the Italian Church, so it is with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After baptism we become members and we have made covenant with Heavenly Father.

This is an organization and everyone is the same in Jesus Christ’s gospel.

There are of course Mission Presidents, Quorum of Seventy who are not American and come from Africa, Brazil, Caribbean. As we see in church history and organizations, General Authorities are all white but some are not American. After the recent death of an apostle, this office falls to the longest-serving member of the faith’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles which means they are all white in the next line to replace a President who leaves. So it still hard for others who are not in this line to be member of the General Authorities.
