“Estudié Etnohistoria en la Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia…. Al hacer mi tesis, escogí este tema que no se había trabajado dentro del mormonismo y aparte quise aundar en el mormonismo en Cuautla pues, cuando yo busqué información, no encontré. Entonces, traté de hacer las preguntas de historia familiar, de cómo ven el mundo de los espiritus, y cómo ven el tema del baustimo por los muertos y aparte preguntarles a los pioneros mormones de aquí en Cuautla, cómo se vivía el mormonismo en su época. Que pues hay algunos que no les fue tan fácil. Les tocaron pedradas, persecuciones quizá no, pero si los veían como, pues, que no eran de ahí, y este…entonces yo también quise rescatar esa historia que se esta perdiendo porque pues no hay quien la recopile.”

“I studied ethnohistory at the National School of Anthropology and History…. In doing my thesis, I chose this theme that had not yet been worked on within Mormonism and I also wanted to delve into the Mormonism in Cuautla, which when I searched for information I did not find. So I tried to make the questions about family history, about how they view the world of the spirits, and about how they view the topic of baptism for the dead. Additionally, I asked the Mormon pioneers here in Cuautla how did they live during their time. For some it was not easy. They were stoned, it wasn’t persecution but they perceived them as outsiders. And so, I also wanted to rescue that history that is being lost because there is no one who can collect it.”
