I stopped drinking. I realized that now as a child of God, if I’m to succeed, I have obey commandments and I’ll be blessed because I know God has me. I mean, that’s it. That’s his strength and he’s honest. He’s not mad that he is going to lie. And I acted on the faith. Like if I believe I wanted something, I would pray about it and it would happen because I remember I paid my tuition and I walked through somebody’s door in the office and asked for a job. And I got it. I was a student leader.
I remember I stood, it was my first day on campus and because I had done a wrong course, I was given four courses. I changed the course. And when I went there, it was their first day to elect their leaders.
And someone nominated me. The person I seated next to, whom we had just made that day and told me, “Hey Tracy, I’m going to nominate you.” I’m like, “Oh, really? Okay.” And I took off. I took on the microphone and told them, “Hey, I’m here. I’m your leader and I need your support.” And I became a leader.
And since then, I was a leader and I had privileges as a leader. I had free accommodation. I have allowances. You have a budget as a student leader. We used to call them ministers. So, you are Minister of Health. I had been a minister of health. I’ve been a minister of social affairs. And I was always like the first.
I remember I hosted the First Lady. I was the first to bring the first lady at the university. I was always the first. I had the first in intern in the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Works. I was the first intern they ever had. So, I was always the first and all that confidence came because I knew who I was.
