So I was teaching in a school nearby there, which is very close to my uncle’s home. Then one day, the principal received book donations from the US. And then he called us. I was teaching chemistry because, in high school, I did chemistry, biology, geography, and mathematics.

So I was teaching chemistry just like a volunteer teacher. So he called me and he said, “___, here are some books. Would you like to…” He called all of us actually from the staff room, and he said, “Here are some books that we have received. Come and check if you can get some relevant books for your subject so that you can use for teaching.” Well, I checked through. I didn’t find any relevant books for chemistry. But I came across this interesting book, which I didn’t even understand but I found it very useful—the Relief Society book.

The Relief Society manual: everything that was in was just good for me. Good grooming. What was it? First aid, cooking…. Lifestyle book, yes. It was just a lifestyle book. So I went and told the headmaster, “Well, I haven’t seen any useful book for chemistry, but I’ve seen this. Do you mind if I take this?” He said, “Why not? Take it if you like it.” So I carried it with me. A year later, then I went to the university, I still carried that book with me. I said, “This book, I must carry it with me.” So when I went to the university, I started doing the chemistry and geography course. But then later on, I changed to Home Economics. So when I changed to Home Economics, I found the book very relevant for the first-year courses that we were doing, and I kept referring to it.

So one time, I looked for the church address in it, and I even wrote a letter and I posted it. I waited for the response. I never got the response. I said, “These people.” I wrote to them because I needed to know more about this because I really liked this book and I would like to know more about the church.
