When my kids were young, there was one time when my daughter made me so happy when she said “Mummy, I’m so glad that you brought us to the church because by now I don’t know what I would have done. Many of her friends were pregnant already. That really touched me when she said that. She didn’t marry a Mormon, but she’s trying. I prayed about it and told her that she could preach, but it was the Lord who brought people into the church. I do not force people. I planted the seed. She knows what’s wrong and right. If you live by the church you know that there will be good consequences. If you are a good example, your children will follow you.
The work versus home issue doesn’t really apply to me. I work seven days a week. I’m the sole support of my children. If it wasn’t for Heavenly Father I don’t know what I would have done. I don’t have a strong family here. My family’s the church. It would be nice to stay home if you had a husband with a very good job and you could afford to stay home. I would have stayed home with my children if I could. I didn’t have that opportunity, but I would have loved it. Everybody has a gift where they have a chance to have a good job, that is fine. If you can stay home,I don’t know why you shouldn’t. But if you don’t have that luxury, I tell myself that I won’t beat myself up over something that I can never change.
