My parents are more than fine with us being members—they love it. They love us being members of the church. Growing up, my mother was so worried, because with the teachings of the world, and us growing up with all the principles that we learned from the world…. But now she’s grown to love the fact that we have activities at church. Like on Saturdays, we have activities at church. They love that my brother went on mission to help others!… My grandmother loves the fact that we just love Jesus and we want to learn more Jesus, because that’s how she’s always been….
So, my grandmother, she had heard about the church a little, like, “Oh yeah, that church,” but the first time that we actually spoke in detail about the church, I had to collect names to go to the temple. And I actually thought that she wouldn’t agree to give me names, but she gave me more names than my dad gave me. So she’s really pleased to see that I’m doing works for ancestors and her brothers and siblings, husband, etc. I used to write down names and hand them over to people to go to the temple, and when I go, I take the names. So she’s really happy about it.
