Our Speakers
Cindi Bigelow is the 3rd generation President and CEO of family-owned Bigelow Tea, the US market leader of specialty teas that produces over 2 billion tea bags annually. She holds a BS degree from Boston College, an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, and Honorary Doctorates from Johnson & Wales University, the University of New Haven and Fairfield University. Socially-and community-minded, she frequently makes appearances speaking to students and industry leaders, sharing insights on business ethics, leadership and marketing, and has received numerous awards for her years of community service. Favorite pastimes include skiing, tennis, taking long walks, being with her children and friends and, of course, drinking lots and lots of tea.
Vijay Sathe was a professor at the Harvard Business School for 10 years prior to joining the faculty at Drucker School of Management. He teaches Managing Change, The Effective Executive, and Managing the Family Business. Sathe has taught in numerous executive education programs around the world and has published six books and numerous articles in academic and professional journals. He has also served as a consultant to corporations worldwide, and he has advised government agencies and not-for-profit organizations.
Sathe’s two latest books are Manage Your Career: 10 Keys to Survival and Success When Interviewing and On the Job, published by Business Expert Press in 2015; and Strategy and Competitiveness in Latin American Markets: The Sustainability Frontier, co-edited with Urs Jäger and published by Edward Elgar in 2014. He received his MBA and PhD from Ohio State University.
Pramodita Sharma is the Schlesinger-Grossman Chair of Family Business at the Grossman School of Business (GSB), University of Vermont. She served as the editor of Family Business Review from 2008-2017. Her research on succession, governance, innovation, next generation commitment, entrepreneurial leadership and sustainability in/by family enterprises is published in over fifty articles and ten books. Since 2015, she has published two books – Entrepreneurs in Every Generation (w. Cohen) & Patient Capital: The Role of Family Firms in Sustainable Business (w. Sharma), and ten articles in journals like ET&P, FBR, JBE, JBR & JFBS. Her latest book on Pioneering Business Families of Sustainable Development was released in March 2021.
