the Orange Unified District. Involved in American Federation of Teachers as a
building representative in 1961. Election to the Southern Section Council of Teaches
Association [CTA] and shortly thereafter elected to the State Council. Tells of
her support of United Teachers of Los Angeles strike. She speaks of the political
agenda of CTA. Elected president of Orange Unified Education Association in 1966.
Discusses two factions in National Education Association: urban area in favor
of advocacy and collective bargaining; rural areas in favor not in favor. Democratic
